Whales Tail of Uvita
Location: Playa Uvita, Costa Rica
This photograph is a 180 degree panorama that was captured about a mile and half off the coast of Playa Uvita’s coastline during dead low tide. The Uvita Whales Tail is a natural beach formation and phenomenon where as two bays come together to form natures perfect rendition of a humpback whale’s tail. Playa Uvita is situated within the Marino Ballena National Park and between the months of December and April humpback whales migrate here to the warm waters off the coast to mate before returning to their northern Pacific Waters.
